Black Sabbath Tour Visuals
Freelance contract to produce a 3d animation for Black Sabbath's final world tour "The End". The brief was to create an intro video that would play on stage before the band comes out, building tension, excitement and anticipation. The concept centred on dark and maniacal themes of post apocalyptic chaos, a demonic parturition and the End Of Days. As senior character and environment artist, I designed, modelled, textured and rigged the main demon character and chrysalis, along with modelling, texturing and lighting the environments and props.
The base mesh was modelled with Maya and Zbrush and detailed/textured in Zbrush. Then re-topology and UVing in Maya, texture baking onto 8 uv tiles, and finally rigging was set up in C4d. Also created expressions and face shapes in Zbrush to use as morph targets for facial rigging in C4d.
Early test render.
Environments were predominantly modelled in Maya and Zbrush (some details were added using C4d cloners), then imported to C4d for lighting, shading and rendering.
